For a permanent repair of the damaged tube, Boeing recommends removing and replacing the damaged 65C33447-4 drain manifold.
a. Separating parts bonded together using SOPM 20-50-12, Type 70 cured at room temperature can be challenging. Boeing recommends to heat the bondline with a heat gun to 225 – 250F. While heating gently exert pressure to pry apart using a plastic wedge or other soft tool. Do not heat the part, allow part to cool and then reheat. This will post cure the adhesive and make successful removal more difficult. Upon removal from the assembly remove all residual adhesive from the bond area of each detail part.
b. Lightly abrade faying surfaces with 180-grit or finer paper in accordance with SOPM 20-30-03, until gloss and any contaminants are removed. Use only new clean sandpaper for abrading.
c. Clean in accordance with the Final Cleaning section of SOPM 20-30-03. Wipe clean with a dry wiper.
d. Bond new 65C33447-4 drain manifold per SOPM 50-20-12 Type 70. Ensure the drain tube hole is not filled with adhesive and fully exposed inside the drain manifold to allow the proper drainage.
As a temporary solution for 10 FC, the broken tube can be installed in place and bonded to the the mix manifold drain assy with RTV157 sealant provided no leak from the sealed area.
